Hi there
To connect to an Oracle DB with the build in DB client, I have to specify a TNS name.
Does PHPEd use a tnsnames.ora file or where does it look for all the specific information regarding a server?

Our DB does not use the default ports so I assume the port information and SID must be referenced from some kind of file since you can’t seem to specify this in PHPEd...

tnsnames.ora is used by OCI, so if you provide tnsname in the account settings it will be used.
Alternatively you may copy-paste all that tags from tnsnames.ora into the account's tnsname. It's supposed to work too (but I did not check)

Thanks for the reply, dmitri
After uninstalling my Oracle 8.1 client and installing the latest Oracle 10g client I was able to gain access. There might have been something wrong with the configuration of 8.1 as I tried everything on it without luck.

Kind regards
