Hello,

I'm having problems with accented characters in the terminal window, even when UTF-8 is selected for this terminal account (its an SSH account)... Anyone has an idea to solve this problem ?

do you have .bashrc or .profile in your home?
if you do, just add export with correct locale strings. They must be utf-8 in order to use utf-8.

Sorry, I've forgotten most of my Unix knowledge in years of PC-only work Sad What would be the syntax for your fix ?

it's not "my fix" Smile, it's a way to get all output in utf-8. Try en_US.UTF-8 locale. The simpliest way is to run export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
but if you need russian or french, you'd set ru_RU.UTF-8 and fr_FR.UTF-8 respectively.

Ok, I've done just that for the french encoding, but it still doesn't work in the PhpEd terminal window, while terminals running under X-Windows on the linux box show accented chars fine Sad In the PhpEd terminal, all the "problematic" chars appear as empty squares.
