pe_handle_error() is returning PE_ERR_NO_VALID_LIC when we run our application.

What does this mean and how do we fix it? As far as we can tell the keyword matches that the app was built with. Is there anything else we need to check?

Build is done using GUI on Win8, app is running on PHP 5.3 on Lin.

pe_handle_error() is not a function that you'd call. It is a function that your application should have implemented and PhpExpress will call it in case of errors.

I meant to put that the function is being called with that as its parameter: $errcode = PE_ERR_NO_VALID_LIC

Is there any way to tell why this error is being generated? I.e. which part of the license is not right (time limit, keyword, hardware ID etc) ?

Seems the lincese is corrupted.
I recommend you the following:
-generate new license
-run md5sum against the license file on the machine where you generated the license. If you don't have md5sum for Windows, try ours: http://www.nusphere.com/sshot/md5sum.exe
-send the license to the server
-check md5sum of the license on the server and make sure it matces the original
