EDIT: I want to add another question: When I'm at beginning of a code line and press the left-button on the keyboard, I don't get back to EOL of the previous line - the same with right-button to go to the next line. How can I handle this?

Seems you turned wrap on. If you don't need it, just uncheck View->Word Wrap

Regarding cursor, if you don't need it to wrap at the beginning of the line, just turn it off in Tools->Settings->Editor SEttings, "Cursor wraps at start of line". Same goes to the right key, check Cursor beyound EOL.

BTW, everything you mentioned there are not the defaults, so please before you proceed with changing any other settings, just read the manual.

Ever since I upgraded to Version 8.x the auto wrap just turns on, I have to disable it every time, this is annoying. Proper coding should never have to have auto wrap unless their screen is 640x480. My first version of NuSphere phpEd was 5.8 (at least that is the oldest I have, I think I had even the 4's at one time)... Nevertheless, I am very familiar with phpEd and use it daily. There should be a setting to be off by default.

I just tested with 8.0 (8032 I believe). PHPed does not turn wrap on automatically as you suggested. It remembers its state between restarts and file_opens.
As for the proper coding not ever needing an auto-wrap, I definitely do not agree, even on 1280 or greater screens. It's absurd and squandering to maintain a bunch of newlines for even the simplest of expressions or parameter lists. It's all about balance. I'm on 1920 and have tool windows on both sides of the screen (workspace, navigator etc.) and something like 1200 for code editors. Occasionally I run into autowraps, although rarely.
What I hate is to see someone's code which spans hundreds of unnecessary lines (incl. comments), each being 20-30 symbols wide.

HAHA Yeah I would have to disagree, although what I am talking about is this, I set my font size appropriately. I too have 1920x1080 on all 6 of my screens which I have attached a couple of pictures, and I still have lines like this:

I don't get stupid and separate all the vars out, I just don't need it to wrap. I have also attached a video to show what 8.1 is doing, if this is the case then I believe it is a bug in the software.

Was it all about to show off your computer setup and the number of screens with useless information on them (in the context of the topic) ?
I'm on Dell 1920x1200 and 42" . None of the pictures showed your main screen with PHPEd displayed, which I believe is on a smaller screen on the left.
The proper coding is to have the IDE on your biggest and central screen, while debugging and brwosers are on the side monitors. And not get distracted by tens of chats and skype's .
By the way lines like the one above is a first candidate to be separated on multiple lines. I'm not a fan of horizontal scrolling at all, yet I want to see everything at a glance. One such line out of 100 or 500 is nothing and should span multiple lines if wrap is off. Well, I prefer wrap in those cases when a line is not suitable to span for some reason. Anyway, I span line whenever I can.

starting with v8 there are two distinct settings for Wordwrap. One - "global" is View->Word Wrap menu. It is assigned with Ctrl-W shortcut by default. It works for all open files together. It also works for all newly opening files. Another - "local" is the button on toolbar that you clicked in your movie. It works only for the file on the tab. Try to make some floating files (see file tab popup menu) and check the buttons -- you'll see it clear how they work.

Ahh, that is it, I didn't understand that they had independent settings. Once I have closed all files, opened a file, hit CTRL-W, closed the file, and everything is now not wrapped... As for the other guy, don't need to brag about my system because I could care less what you think. Also if you would have clicked on the video, you would have seen what I was talking about. This topic is resolved.
