Tool to do syntax check on a file?

Is there a way to do a syntax check on a php file before executing it within the system?

It is Tools->Run Instant Error Analysis. Also, PhpED will show you syntax errors as you type if you have "Instant Error Analysis" turned on in Tools->settings->Code insight
