I followed the HOWTO: Install debugger module
I use 4.2.2 php version
I get the following header on phpinfo() function

Zend Engine v1.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2002 Zend Technologies with DBG v2.16.14, (C) 2000,2004, by Dmitri Dmitrienko


but the the 'telnet computerIP 7869' command return that the server is not responding

no firewalling is intalled on the machine.

i tried to add
debugger.hosts_allow=ALL in the php.ini file

I do not manage to figure out where is the problem.

Any idea that could help to debug?

make sure a) PHPED is running b) you run telnet on the server c) computerIP is a real IP of workstation where PHPED is running. If this IP is behind NAT router, you may want to add port forwarding or use SSH tunelling. See FAQ forum on how to do it.

Thanks for your answer.
I am a bit confused now.
I am trying to run a Debugger session in PHPED.

A) so PHPED is running on my workstation IP is 192.168.2.160.
B) From the server IP : 192.168.2.10 I run
telnet 192.168.2.160 7869
On the server
I get a connection but when I hit "return"
I am instantly deconnected.

On the worstation, here are the logs from DBG listener
28/04/2005 19:06:10 Listener started
28/04/2005 19:11:11 192.168.2.10 client connected
28/04/2005 19:11:19 192.168.2.10 wrong client, disconnecting

C) I am on a LAN

It works now on the LAN It was my mistake the IP of my workstation was not allowed.
I will test from a VPN connection from home tonight.
