You can do this already..

Place cursor just after opening bracket.. use 'find matching bracket' function (shortcut or menu item).. then so normal search / replace.. the default settings selected in the search window will default to the current selection only. This is very easily and quickly doable for functions, methods and classes.

In fact, using this method gives you far more flexibility than what you've specifically asked for.. as you could easily select text and search within a switch statement, or a specific case statement, or a conditional, etc etc etc.

The point is to be able to search for text within current scope without jumping through hoops. What if opening/closing brace is nowhere in sight?
