It does not seem possible to replace a mixture of tabs and spaces with tabs, using the ctrl+r replace dialog in PhpED IDE for Windows (Build5025Eval).

It throws a message saing that "Search string ' ' not found"

The tabs appear as squares in the replacement dialog.

It's a known problem that tabs are not supported by Find/Replace.

Tabs _are_ supported but not when mixed with, in this case, spaces.
Can you confirm it is going to be fixed in the next version?

tabs are not supported for Find and Find/Replace operations.
In other words, there is no way to search for a tab character.
and this will not be implemented for version 5.0.
but we're aware of this functionality and have it in our plans.
