Stand-alone debugger interface for DBG

I want to write a stand-alone debugger interface listener for linux, to work together with DBG. Is there any documentation about the protocol and related stuffs that I will need to know ?

DBG listener for linux was written in 2001 and available in source form on the SourceForge site since that. See DBG2 project, dbg-2.10rc2-linux package. Also, you can find there dbg console client application that uses DBG listener (dbgbase library) API.
