I'm not entirely sure, but the source for LESS is freely available (albeit written in JavaScript) here: https://github.com/cloudhead/less.js

So, it's more than year and a half since I started this topic. And there we are with a big fat ignore... I believe that we deserve at least an answer / eta / anything. Or should I reconsider my investment?

I think I made it clear that I didn't find any format descriptions for neither LESS nor SCSS.
It's almost impossible to support them without this description. I think many other IDE developers will agree with that.
If LESS and SCSS maintainers are interested in promoting their stuff, they may want to add this description and update it as the stuff evolves.

It _might_ be a good idea to allow users to customize syntax highlighting definitions, it would generate some feedback from community that way.
Also, there are some grammar implementations which could be used, for example: http://pydoc .net/Python/scss/0.8.71/scss.grammar/ . In short its pretty much the same as css with some changes.

p.s.
sorry I kinda got disappointed because I didn't understand the point of your previous reply

http://sass-lang. com/documentation/file.SASS_REFERENCE.html

This seems like a full description of the language. Would this help you in adding support to PhpED?

PhpED is a truly great platform, but the CSS part is sorta lacking so that I have to use external editors for that. I really hope CSS3 and SCSS support can be improved for PhpED 11 so that it, once again, becomes my all-in-one wonder tool. =)

I just spent about two minutes googling around for the grammar stuff for less, and found these:

http://code.google.com/p/less4java/source/browse/lesscss/src/main/java/com/mostlymagic/lesscss/?r=6#lesscss%2Fgrammar%2Fless
vanderkroef.net/clessc.html
dotlesscss.org

The spam filter hid the last two, so they're not hyperlinks.

There's got to be enough here to help with adding the feature. Pretty please?
