As far as I know FTP does not support changing file permissions. At least I don't see any commands like chmod in RFC959.
Same goes to the samba network drives. |

I have noticed that some FTP clients have the ability to set file permissions. I played around with FileZilla, and found that it uses the SITE command to achieve this. I believe it may be a system-dependent option. Example:
I am using SFTP myself, and do not necessarily have the same requirements as Herculesmorse. I am merely making a comment on FTP ![]() |
