Question: search in files & tabs |

I'm not aware of an option for not overwriting the previous results, but something that may assist you is the ability to search for multiple values using regular expressions.
For example, if you want to search for string1 and string2 you can tick regular expressions then search for string1|string2 |

Just don't close the window with status and corresponding tab with results won't be reused.
Also, you can run search for the first time with bogus criteria, do not close the status, then search for needed strings one by one without closing status, then close all them all. New search results will appear in the first tab, while no others starting with 2nd will be touched. |
