Make sure you have either php_cpdf.dll or php_pdf.dll installed.
Without a proper extension installed, php can't run any function from it. pdf_new() is just a case. |

Pls,
I'm not even sure where these need to go---babysteps please. Doesn't the 3.1 version have everything? If not, can you let me know what to do. I feel as if I shouldn't have to do much after installing your product. |

I believe that a better source of information for beginners is www.php.net site.
Briefly, you have to a) locate where your php.ini file. Hint: run phpinfo() function and inspect the topmost header b) edit php.ini with your favorite editor. Hint: you'll see many commented out extension= statements. Try to locate necessary extension beside them then if found just uncomment, if not found, add one by your self. |

Already uncommented out the line for pdflib in the php.ini. Did that a few days ago.
I'm asking if the nusphere product has any known issues with producing pdf's as it doesn't seem to work. I got an error message which directed me to pdflib where there is no version of pdflib available for the version of php (4.06) in nusphere! Please tell me if there's an issue here so I can investigate another approach. |

why 4.0.6 ?
TechPlatform 3.1 which is available from the site for months, contains php-4.3 and it contains php_pdf.dll that does not require any external pdf library, at least as far as I know. |

Do I have to upgrade phpEd or can I use my previous version?
Should I deinstall all of the former platform, or is there a graceful upgrade process? |

Do you mean when you use TechPlatform or what ? TechPlatform is a self-contained product and does not require any other tools .
Yes, before install a new TechPlatform the previous version should be backed up and uninstalled. You'd take care of configuration files and mysql data directory (if you have mySQL installed). After new version installed, you'd check if you have everything working good and then restore mysql data, then check if you need to make any corrections in httpd.conf (do not overwrite it without clear understanding) |
