Ok, typos aside, if there are no changes then why is there a patch?

I would consider bug fixes and the like to be changes.
My point I guess is if I have no reason to DL a patch I'd rather not, and the change log should be the place to inform me if a patch is worth my time, not the patch notes in the package

and why the heck did I have to re-enter my name, company and serial number for a patch that has no changes?

really, whats the game guys?

*edit* I'm really hoping I didn't just go through all this just so you could invalidate leaked serials, which is what this patch appears to be addressing...

looks like you missed the point -- it's not a patch at all.
It is new version 6.1, while what you had before was 6.0

changelog does not display any changes comming with new version because whole the idea behind new version release is to bring to you a set of new features and thy are listed at the web pages (www.nusphere.com). Compare with the idea behind changelog which indeed is to inform you about fixes.

hmm, not what I'm used to.
Usually when I own software I don't frequent its product page at the store since I already own it.
so I would not usually be looking to the store page for update info, if you know what I mean.
