I'm trying to work with PHPEd 3.3.3 build 3395 and Mysql 4.1 on Windows XP

In another post ddmitrie mentioned mysql 4.1 requires a new libmysql.dll - so I replaced the shipping libsql.dll in the phped directory with libmysql.dll found in the 4.1 release of mysql (is this ok? ) (BTW: with old dll - I couldn't connect to mysql 4.1 - so that's the reason for changing it).

Now with the updated dll - I am able to connect however the db client application in phped is giving the following error:

Error : 'mysql' is not a valid floating point value

It is blank database - I haven't created anything in it. If I use the mysqladmin application - it connects to mysql 4.1 without any errors.

Is there anything I need to configure in PHPEd or DB Client to make it work correctly with Mysql 4.1

as far as I see there is a backward compatibility issue.
We'll try to improve situation in the next major version.

Thanks, I installed Mysql version 4.0 and PHPEd doesn't seem to have any problems.

sure. the license was changed when they released 4.1, I think that's the reason why they dropped BC.
