I have installed techplatform and now wish to
use MySql
Downloaded the latest version but not
having any joy getting apache to recognise it

Looks like I miss the point.
May I ask you what relation you see they have to each other? I see just nothing in common. They are just two services. Each is intended for its own purposes. Apache serivices html web pages. Mysql services sql queries.

I need to extract data from 2 MySQL databases located at two different servers. How is it possible from one single PHP page?

apache you can download it for free - this is a free server so if you know that php code will be working only on server so that's why you need apache and SQL is for SQL queries. What do you mean extract 2 mySQL located at different two servers?
