libmysql.dll poor documentation |
|
Greetings,
I would just like to say that the documentation around the libmysql.dll issue is very poor and could do with some updating. The content here - http://www.nusphere.com/kb/technicalfaq/faq_db_related.htm gives a reason for the issue but does not provide a useful solution. Something along the lines of ----- Go here - http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.1.html#win32 And download Windows (x86, 32-bit), ZIP Archive (mysql-noinstall-5.1.44-win32.zip) then extract the dll from path blahblahblah ----- Would be much more useful. Also including a link in the error message in PHPEd itself to the relevant documentation would also be a nice touch. I just spent half an hour trying to figure out what to download to get PHPEd working correctly. Searching forums for an answer to a problem that has been a known issue for 2 years is not my idea of a fun introduction to the software. Dave. |
