Left Right in input boxes using browser

I was wondering why pressing left or right while inside a text input box while viewing a page moves the control out of focus instead of moving left or right one character...

Also, pressing backspace erases 2 characters at a time instead of just 1 ??

okay. Got it.
Seems the problem is caused by the way IE activeX control was embedded.
