Installing Server Dbg modules on Ubyntu vers 11 Linux box |

Make sure you have the appropriate version of the debug modules for your version of PhpED. A mis-matched debug module version sometimes might cause problems when debugging, such as hanging the Apache process.
There is a how to at http://www.nusphere.com/products/debugging_php.htm Note: The how to indicates to use the modules located in the PhpED debugger/server folder. I recommend you instead use the different debugger modules that you can separately download from your NuSphere account and are in an archive with a name like NuSphere-phped-5.9.5-debugger-ssl.zip The ssl does not mean you have to use SSL. You can create a new blank project and choose to use the Settings Wizard. You provide FTP account details for it to access your remote server. It will then copy a PHP script (dbg-wizard.php) to the server and run it so it can provide advice on where the PHP configuration file is located on the server plus the changes you need to make to it, such as which debug module to use. It will also check the debugger is working. Alternatively, you can manually download the script from http://shop.nusphere.com/customer/download/files/dbg-wizard.php then copy it to a web site on your server and access it through a web browser. Depending on your web server configuration and whether it is just for development or is also publically accessible, you might be able to configure debugging for the whole server (global PHP configuration) or just individual web sites. I'm of the personal opinion that a publically available live production server should not have a debugger installed unless it can be restricted to individual web sites where those sites are running their own private Apache/PHP processes. |

We were able to get this done. Ubuntu seems to have files spread out all over the place, but we got it.
Thanks for the help. |
