When I associate files with Dreamweaver it gives a different icon per file type, a JS tag and an HTML tag on the files of those types, etc...

It would be nice to see some intelligent sensing of unknown file types to attempt to distinguish there language.
I see a trend of people using *.config for XML configuration files, it would be nice if it tried to figure out that it was XML.
