Is there a way to enable this in phpEd?

2) Can I changed it so deleting doesn't indent backwards, I want it to just delete.

3) When I click anywhere in a line, the cursor goes there, I want it to drop back to last character of the line.

No.

Deactivate "Tools > Settings > Editor settings > Backspace unindents".

I guess you should deactivate "Tools > Settings > Editor settings > Cursor beyond EOL". Strangely I just couldn't reproduce your problem by activating it - on my system the cursor never goes beyond the end of the line.

This didnt work, if I select a load of text, it just deletes the first character!

This fixed it, thanks Smile I could literally type anywhere on a line, then preselect back and it would have made a line of tabs to that point.

Is there a way to enable the special characters, I'd like to see where tabs are, I can see there characters are defined on the Editor settings, but they're not actually showing in the files.

Thanks for your help.

Not on my computer. And it prevents unindenting by using backspace... Could there be another setting that causes this behavior?

I kinda like your suggestion btw, perhaps you should make it into a feature request!

Backspace de-indenting obviously only works if you are at the end of the indenting whitespace and not in the code on that line. If you want to de-indent whilst still in the code, select one or more characters (possibly with shift+home) and then shift+tab to de-indent.

Cursor beyond EOL works pretty much as expected here Smile Only line it doesn't work on is the last one but that needs the Cursor beyond EOF option.

Yes, I think this could be helpful now and then.

I'm absolutely sure it worked when I used PhpED for the first time. Then I turned it off and left it that way. Now nothing changes when I turn on the "Cursor beyond EOL" option... Confused

Perhaps it's a "once you turn it off, never go back"-feature Wink
