Hello,

I searching for the option checkbox at PhpED where I can decide marked text is deleting if I press "Del" at Keyboard.
We have two versions installed and one of them have this obscure phenomenon.

What goes wrong?

please check the shortcut in Tools->Settings->Editor shortcuts, Editing Commands -> Delete

the shortcut Editing Commands -> Delete is associated with "Del"

No the file is not readonly. It is on new created files too. It is on not stored files too.

ok if I press shift key the marked text is correct deleted.

What a strange problem. Del works fine for me. Could you please attach screenshot of the Editor Shortcuts page?

On second installation of phped it works fine, but on this not. I havn´t seen configuration differences, but i think it´s a configuration problem.

short discription of this syndrom:

I have a new created file, only with "<?... ?>" content.
I write "This is a example text" and the text is displayed fine.

I mark the text "example" and press "Del" -> result: the marked text is unchanged and the first char of text after "example" is deleted.

If i press "shift key" + "Del" the text "example" is deleted fine.


But i want the marked text deleted as default.

Please post screenshot of the Editor settings. Probably you have "persistent blocks" turned on. In this case, Del is not supposed to delete the selected text. It deletes what ever character is under cursor.

ok that´s the reason.
"persistent blocks" was enabled.
