I still quite dont understand why it is not possible to start and stop the debug process manually so you would not have to monitor the cookie

You don't have to monitor the cookies at all. The reason I asked was to understand what is going on. From my point of view, debugging would start without any problems. If there ones, you may want to check yourself or help us check.

I mean if you could have a menuitem to switch to debug mode, and you stay in debug mode until you switch it off.

And you have this menu item. I hope you heard of NuSphere Debugger Toolbar for IE and 3rd party one for FireFox?

When I developed in cobol on mainframe systems (10 years ago) that was possible, and much easier to control.

You may want to try to develop web sites in cobol then Wink

Ok, but what if you debug in PHPed, then you do not have this sort of debugmode on/off feature.

I see no connection. With PhpED you do have all the features I talked about, but as far as I see all the discussion goes in a completely wrong direction. Would you mind to give what I suggested a try and let me know about the results?

I tried to use Apache instead of the internal server, and after putting a breakpoint in index.php file it works.

If I do not put a breakpoint it will not catch my other breakpoints. Never mind that now it works.

But I do not understand why I have to debug from IE or Firefox using the Nusphere plugin, to have a debug on/off mode.
Why is that not possible in PHPEd, instead of having the debugger to turn off debug mode.

We may be talking past each other, but generally I got it to work. Thank you.

Hi,

I am very new to PHP and nusphere. I installed a demo version and tried to use it to debug the my PHP code that uses code igniter framework.
Now I understand that I need to use "Debugging toolbar for IE". But I dont get this toolbar anywhere.

Is there any step by step documentation to solve this problem?

Thanks,
