Counting lines of code in a project?

I know it's not really important, but is there any way to count the lines of code in a project? I wouldn't want anything fancy but the way that the search system allows you to specify a project or directory or whatever, filter by file extension and exlude things like .svn/ directories would be fine. If it was smart enough to exclude blank lines then great, but that's not needed by any means.

Failing this, is there any other way to do this in Windows? I want to count how many lines in my .html, .php and .tpl files, throughout many directories and excluding a few line .svn/ and so on.

my suggestion would be to write a php code for it and include it in PHPED as a script.
