I am using PhpED on the same shared hosted space for years. Suddenly today while I was uploading changes on the file on which I was working I get this error "Failed to connect to server .... port 21 host actively refuses/drops connection". With the same and untouched settings, I can correctly get the connection with FileZilla. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

^_^ Of course I will never give up on trying I have to work with it! But fixing a problem means understanding the cause behind and I cannot understand why FileZilla is working. Besides, what if tomorrow is not enough?

TCP/21 suggests it's FTP? If it's not FTP but SSH, you need to update port to 22
