My code explorer window is always empty. Is there any reason that this might be?

Its content depends on many factors, such as project settings, mode, currently editing file etc.
If for example you have at least one project in the workspace and this project has at least one php file and there is at least one variable or function or class, and Code Explorer mode is Class View, it would show this variable or function or class.
