Dear Nusphere,
Do we have any news on this thread? Will there be Javascript support or will it remain a strict php editor? Thanks, Frank |

Hello
This is a must needed feature in PHPed I have moved away from PHPed to Eclipse for PHP + Aptana for Javascript. I think nuSphere should seriously think about integrating JS support along with the major Frameworks such as jQuery, Dojo, Mootools etc. |

Not to forget ExtJS, as this is also a major framework, and IMHO one of the best out there.

I think Ext JS is mainly geared towards creation of Web Applications in Javascript. Ofcourse this is also very important |

I really want it too. I've been including a lot of ajax using jQuery and javascript, and although the syntax highlighting does work for javascript to some extent, I really miss things you can do for php code such as code assist tooltips, autocompletion and code folding. I think this is is what's really missing the most in PhpED right now: more functionality for javascript and ajax. A good thing would probably be to allow for the creation of 3rd party "code assist plugins" you could plug in PhpED to add functionalities. It's already done by other IDE's like Eclipse. That would make it easier to support for you guys, and allow the creators of popular javascript frameworks (such as jQuery or ExtJS) to maintain their own code assist plugins. |

One thing that is kinda annoying, is that from day one (April 2006) of this thread there has been no statement at all from the nusphere staff.
As I am getting more and more involved with Ajax and especially ExtJS, I'd like to know if I can count on some feature upgrade in PHPEd, or I have to learn to work with Eclipse. Since I have not plenty of time on my hands learning all different editors I'd like to stick to phpEd. Please nusphere staff. Could you please give us an update? |

We understand and appreciate the need. As you can see from our latest
tutorials on PHP Frameworks and also articles about us on other websites - we are committed to fully support Web 2.0 development - which means better Java Script support and by the way, better HTML support. It will be done, some sooner, some later, but all in the near future. Just stick with PhpED Professional to make sure you get all upgrades free |

+1, i currently use Dreamweaver to develop HTML+CSS+JS templates and then transfer them to PhpED. Biggest pain for me is CSS, only DW has good tool for it (may be because i'm quite noob in CSS). Some tools for CSS in PhpED for writing and validating (i.e. used/unused classes) would be cool
