I wish I could change the colors and theme of the whole IDE not just the editor. It doesn't appear to be possible. If it is please inform how to achieve this.
Thanks

I'd like that too - having black code area and white everything else is not an ideal solution.

if you want to change appearance of all other windows and controls, why don't you change this in Windows settings?

I tried turning on High Contrast theme in Windows 7, but then everything looks like Windows 98 and lots of functionality gets lost (like alt+tab previews etc.) :-/ Also I'm quite happy with other apps looking just like they are Smile

I mainly program during nighttime, that's why I prefer darker themes in IDEs.

actually themes will rock. You can also take advantage that you can host themes, where user can 1 click install them Wink
Most of my colligues are using sublime ( i dont know the exact name Very Happy ) just because of the themes out there.

Dark theme is a trend in the modern world. Look at Adobe products or other IDE's. I love PhpEd but my eyes are burning of these white sidebars and light elements, while I use dark theme in the code editor.
So I begging you to give us a dark theme.

After many years, I've started trying out different editors because the eye strain has become really tedious.

I do understand any company is right in prioritizing as they see fit, but a rough theme selector and a color option to make the chrome dark feel like very minor modifications.

I hope they do listen.

[citation needed]

If that's true, it's a step in the right direction, but unless they allow users to customize the experience, it's not likely that anyone will be completely pleased with the result.
