port 22 has no relation to FTP protocol...
If you mean SFTP, it is not FTP at all but an extension to SSH protocol. Phped 3.3 does not support SFTP, only FTPS (ssl-ed FTP). Many modern FTP servers support SSL/TLS extensions, like Wu-FTPD and Pro-FTPD. Take a look at them. |

Have a look at MindTerm MindTerm it's a free for personal use FTP to SFTP bridge. It works quite well to send data through SFTP using phpED.
