Hi. I just upgraded to phpED version 5.5 an now

the internal debugger do not function. Does the internal/local debugger not update automaticaly?
I get the following msg. in the output window:

DBG 3.2.14
Failed to start DBG session
Reason: protocol error ()
Not sure what it means? Visit http://www.nusphere.com/dbg/ for troubleshooting.
Debugger request:
"396724546610800001;d=1,p=0,c=1"
Request found in: "query_string"
Target PHP version: "5.2.x"
Server API: "CGI/FastCGI"
Extensions API: "220060519"
Modules API: "20060613"
PHP API: "20041225"

Also there is at msg. popup window with the following text:

"wrong version (3.2) of debugger module detected on the server side. debugger module version of 3.4 is needed to start debug sessin."

Problem is that I only want to do local/internal debugging. Is it some kind of setup problem? It worked with phpED version 5.2.

Hope you can help with this.
Kind regards Esben Bahnsen

I had the problem as well, but I rebooted the PC having PhpED on it and it went away.

It was the old php.ini that made trouble. I did not allow the installer to override the php.ini.
The solution was to copy of the old php.ini and the extension folder, uninstall everything, and install again.
After editing the new php.ini and restoring som files to the extension folder everything works fine again Smile

Yury - NuSphere, did help with this (thanks)..
"You do need to install new debugger module, unless you are using Srv and allowed the installer to override php.ini files for your PHP4 and PHP5 installed by PhpED. New debugger module (dbg) is located under <phped install folder>/debugger/server/<your platform> folder. You can still use dbg-wizard script to help you locate the module and the instructions to install it - you may want to comment out existing module in order for dbg-wizard to print the instruction for the installation of the new one."

I'm having this same problem -- I just upgraded from 5.2.

I DID let the installer update the php.ini file during the upgrade.

Could you please give me specific instructions on what to do to fix this?

By the way, when I look under nusphere/debugger/server/windows/x86, the highest number dbg-php-x.y.dll is 5.2. Should there be a 5.5?

Thanks,

Mitch

Thanks esbenbahnsen! you're instructions on allowing the installer to replace the INI files fixed my problem. I made a backup first and then made the appropriate changes to the new ones. Thanks!!
