I am trying to customize the HTMLarea3 Wysiwyg editor in my Mambo CMS and I try to use PhpEd to do that. I can set breakpoints anywhere in the files of the Mambo admin section and they work nicely. But any breakpoints in files that are loaded into the popup dialogs of HTMLarea are ignored. These popups are ordinary php files that are opened in new windows generated by JavaScript. If I alter those php files within PhpEd I immediatelly see the resulting changes in the popups, but if I set breakpoints they are still ignored.

Any idea what causes this problem and how I can circumvent it?
