I recently modified the colors in the editor for both PHP and HTML and ever since I did it, i no longer get the very useful auto-highlight matching tag feature.

ive been through the options over and over and cannot for the life of me figure out what options to set/reset to get this working again.

could you please clue me on how to get it working again and what options actually control that feature?

Check Settings dialog > Editor settings > Autohighlight checkbox value.
Colors used to highlight can be configured in Settings dialog > Editor Appearance > Highlighted text.
BTW, when autohighlight is off tag/identifier under cursor can be highlighted manually by calling Edit > Highlight It command (default shortcut Ctrl-H).
