Hello,

I recently received a new computer from work and I need to move all of my settings / ftp and terminals over to the new computer.

following this thread ( which is VERY old)

http://forum.nusphere.com/new-computer-way-to-keep-all-settings-t4350-12.html

I copied over the config folder and registry stuff, nothing worked...

Please help, I have over 200 FTP settings in here, and I do not want to have to figure out all of the passwords for them.

By default PhpED keeps its config files in user folders which vary according to your version of Windows:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR-NAME\Application Data\NuSphere\PhpED\config
C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\AppData\Roaming\NuSphere\PhpED\config

Accounts are stored in the accounts.cfg file, so copy that between config folders on the different computers.

...right, or just %APPDATA%\NuSphere\PhpED\config -- which works in all versions of Windows
because Windows Explorer expands environment variables like %APPDATA% automatically

Regarding accounts, starting with v8 you can export/import them in UI. Don't have to copy this file (except your case -- moving to another machine)

Can you clarify that statement please?

So if installing on the same machine, you can import/export, but if installing on a new machine, you still need to copy a bunch of files? That cant be right !!

When would you ever want to import / export from and back into the same machine?

If you want to transfer all by copying files in config, I think it's easier to copy all Smile at once.
If you need to distribute accounts among your team, it's easier export/import accounts.

Can we please have a simple export of ALL settings and ALL configurations please in the next update?

E.g. so i can export to a file/folder/zip file, whatever, import it into a different computer or same computer, and it will all just work seamlessly.

Please ?

Why not add the ability to point to the config file at a different folder altogether? That way I could just keep my config in dropbox and have the same settings regardless of what computer I'm at.

I haven't tried it myself, but you could try changing the Home and/or HomeNoRoaming registry values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NuSphere\PhpED8.1 as they seem to point to the config folders. I use PhpED from two different computers but never at the same time, so I might give this a go myself.
