Hi,

I have dbg 2.16.7 server installed on a linux web server (192.168.1.27).

I have dbg 2.16.7 listener running on a XP Pro machine (192.168.1.35).

I tried to execute from the linux server, but got


Trying 192.168.1.35...
Connected to 192.168.1.35 (192.168.1.35).
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

The log window on the XP Pro machine showed:
6/15/2004 3:54:39 PM 192.168.1.27 client connected
6/15/2004 3:55:09 PM 192.168.1.27 wrong client, disconnecting


When I used dbg version 2.11.23, the connection was fine. No problem.

But I have to use dbg 2.16 since PHPEd 3.3.1 eval requires dbg 2.16.

Any suggestion to fix the problem?

when you check connection using telnet it should be detected as a wrong client, isn't it ? So there is no problem at all.

Thank you for your reply. You maybe right.

However, when using dbg 2.11.23, the dbg listener showed there is a client conneced and never disconnected it when I telnet from the linux server. DBG 2.11.23 works fine but not 2.16.

Any other idea?

it's a flaw of dbglistener-2.11.x, which has no protection against wrong clients.
2.12 and higher detects wrong clients fast enough and properly reflects such facts.
