Well my my thread got deleted and my user account deleted.

I was just trying to establish if this was a problem others had encountered.

Dmitri replied suggesting it might be something in my editor settings.

I posted a picture of them for confirmation.

plugnplay confirmed he could reproduce the behaviour. The next thing I know is the thread is gone and my account deleted.

Strictly, the policy of the forum is not to report bugs here, but until I had consulted with other forum users I wasn't sure it was a bug.

At this point I could report it as a bug, but it's seems a bit draconian to for Nusphere to remove the thread and delete my account!

I have been renewing my Nusphere license for at least 5 years now, so I am very disappointed to be treated by them in this way.

If they have a problem with something I have done on the forum I would appreciate an email from them, not a silent execution!

A forum is a great place to first determine if you have found a bug and get a temporary work around until it is fixed. Unfortunately we never to get see anything from the NuSphere bug tracking system.

Providing a forum will always mean people will want to discuss bugs & problems that might be answerable by support, irrelevant of the rules & policies. That's just how people work. There should not be anything wrong with that, as we can all learn new things. People should of course be directed towards reporting the bug using the correct method when appropriate. Make it easy; how about a support link at the top of every page?

This forum has on many occasions been extremely quiet and that might be because people feel there is no point in using it. My reason for posting so much over the last few months was to help towards getting the forum used more.

Post removal is disappointing, but actually not that unusual for this forum (and I dare say this post will disappear soon as well). Mad

Yes, I have found folk on the forum to be very helpful. A happy community that grows around a good product can be good for the product as it adds tangible value. However, such a community can evaporate if they feel the moderators are intolerant and unfair.

Hope you account doesn't get deleted as you'll go from a veteran back to a newbie Wink

regards
Nick

Nick, we're terribly sorry -- our moderator deleted the account and all the posts by mistake. He wanted to delete one spammer and copy-pasted wrong username.
All you posts will be restored shortly. We got the db restored from backup and now it's only matter of finding and restoring records.

Okay, thanks for clearing up the mystery Dmitri. I have noticed posts go missing before (as have others). I don't have specific instances to give you, but if it is perhaps caused by the same spam clean-up endeavours, it might be worth looking at that process.

In general, I find the folk on this forum to be a very valuable source of help and I have to say not many product forums have daily visits from the product owner/architect/developer, so thanks for being so attentive to all of our requests for help.
