Ive had htis issue before and found help on the forum, but searched and cant find it now.

Since I installed the latest version when I open a new file the php is all properly colored, but the HTML is grayed out.

When I click in a HTML region then the HTML takes on its correct formatting colors but the php gets grayed out.

How do I stop this happening, so that all syntax is colored correctly all the time?

It's called Dynamic Highlighting. I actually prefer having it on, but you can toggle it with F12, or the button on the toolbar that has four different colored squares in it.
