As a new user of PHPEd, I am having a hard time getting a test file to run. The output shows me part of my php code, but does not give the output you are supposed to get. "echo" statements are just repeated in the output. What am I doing wrong?

When I have an html file with php included, how can I get the php to be formatted? With me, it only displays in gray, and without any formatting.

Is it possible to check the syntax without running a piece of code?

make sure your file has php extension.
