When I run:
ssh -R 7869:localhost:7869 myname@myhost.com -p 15554 (my host doesn't use port 22)

I get the message:
"Warning: remote port forwarding failed for listen port 7869"

Per the instructions on another post, I ran
netstat -nao

and I think I'm getting 2 entries regarding port 7869:

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State Timer
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:7869 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN off (0.00/0/0)
tcp 0 0 ::1:7869 :::* LISTEN off (0.00/0/0)

I see that the timers are "off", but the state is "LISTEN" (i really don't know what any of this means) I suspect that the timer needs to be at "keepalive"?

this is a shared hosting environment - what can I do to open this port?
