Timeout error - different versions?

Hi - I'm trying to fix a timeout error when starting the debugger, and am looking through the instructions here: tip-troubleshooting-debugger-communications-t579.html#2264

The first point is
Quote:
1. Make sure that debugger module has the same version as dbglistener.

My phpinfo shows "DBG v3.2.10" for the module, but the debug listener only shows "version 3.2.9". Are these versions incompatible? I can't see any newer versions of the listener anywhere.

I'm using NuSphere 5.2, IIS7 on vista, and whenever I try to debug I get "Failed to start debug session (timeout)"
Cheers.

This sounds more like a connection problem (e.g. remote firewall not allowing access on port 7869) than a version incompatibility. If the debugger module and dbglistener do not have the same version number, there usually is a clear error to that extend. My suggestion is that you run the DBG Wizard for more clues.

PS: PhpED 5.2 is quite old. I wonder if it even is Windows Vista compatible Confused

Thanks for the response - it turns out the debugger works for embedded browsers - it is only problematic with the external IE, so I can work in the meantime. I'll look into getting the latest version. Smile
