Just recently my syntax coloring has changed. I dont know if its something ive done by accident or the result of an update, but it's really annoying.

If I have a document that contains html, css, and php, when whenever I click on one type of code, all the other types of code in the document get grayed out.

This is really annoying as it means I can't scan down the document taking in all the different code types in one go with their different highlighting colors. Rather, to see php with coloring, I have to click on a block of php code. Then to see the line of html under that with coloring, I have to click in a block of html. And when I do that, the php I was looking at before gets grayed out.

Does anyone know how I trun this behavior off? It has only started doing it recently.

Sounds like you've enabled dynamic highlighting.

Try hitting 'F12' to toggle it on / off.
