Debugging works fine if I have the browser setting to either "Embedded Internet Explorer" or "Embedded Mozilla Browser". If I switch to either "Microsoft Internet Explorer" or "Mozilla Firefox" The browser starts but noting displays and it constantly shows Waiting for localhost ... in the status bar. I have tried changing the port it runs on but that seems to make no difference. I would be grateful for some pointers on how to resolve this.

check your %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
it should contain line below
127.0.0.1 localhost

if there is anything else associated with localhost, just fix the problem.

Also, you may want to check your local firewall and allow your browser to connect to localhost.

host file just contains the entry:-

127.0.0.1 localhost

and local firewall is definitely not preventing the browser from accessing localhost.

I rebooted the box after clearing the hosts file and that did the trick. Thanks
