I think it would be highly beneficial if each search resulted in results coming up in its own search pane (which can be closed individually), much like how performance profiling now works. Eg: If I search for "functiona" in the project, its results will show up. If I then search for "valueb" in files, another search pane is created with those results. I can go from tab a to tab b to see the results and work on the two sets of results individually.

I often find that while going through the results of one search I find other things I Need to search on, resulting in having to search back and forth, which is really inconvenient. I imagine this would really help others, I know I've talked to every user of our 4 man team they would love this feature.

Not quite a year has passed but I was hoping to bump this feature request and get some visibility for it.

The idea is to open each search in its own results tab, so that subsequent searches don't wipe out previous search results. Or have arrows that let you go back and forth on search results.
