my phped 5.5 display chinese character in such a strange style like this:

Actually the correct appearance should be like this (in Visual Studio):

All the chinese text is rotated left by 90!

I've browsed the archive post in the forum, and set everything i can set, such as "default charset" and "uncheck monospaced fonts"... but the problem still exists.
I even find the same problem in the dmitri's post type-chinese-word-problem-t2232.html . The text inputed by dmitri is also rotated.

I guess this may be caused by my english windows OS, not chinese version. dmitri should also use english windows OS, so the chinese in his screen is also rotated. Other guys who are using chinese winodws won't find this problem.

Hm.. a bug?

Interestingly... I'll check this.
Meanwhile, I think it's related to the font rendered in the editor. Please try the same font as in VisualStudio.
...

update

I've checked and it appears that PhpED works fine with Chineese characters using Courier New font:

(see the characters double-width)

With @DotumChe font, the glyphs are rotated and they are single-width:

so it's a pure font-related issue (if it's an issue at all).

dmitri is right. When I switch to courier new font, the characters are all displayed correctly.

It seems that the rotated chars is caused by Fixedays font, I'm still wondering why VisualStudio can handle this font perfectly....

OK, thanks, dmitri
