Actually if i put a word next to it with courier new in 12pts, PhpED is closer to the size than Zend is, for 12pt the displayed size is extremely small.

Hmm,
is there a way to deactivate clear-type? My problem is to see difference between bold and not bold. It looks identical with 9pt or 10pt. |

You saved my day blizz!
But it would be very nice, if I could deactivate clear-type just for NuSphere. Is this possible? |

I'm pretty sure it's a global setting, so completely on or off.
If it really disturbs you you might want to try ClearType Tuner, it might solve your problems. Or just switch over to another programming font like Andale Mono or Proggy. |

Maybe you are right. In Zend Studio I could change the cleartype setting, but I guess the cleartype was not the original from vista.

Assuming that Microsoft knows better how to use Microsoft Windows API, I'd tell that font size is okay in Nusphere and wrong in Zend. Just compare with fonts rendered by WordPad:

Dmitri, you are right. But the problem is, that a font size of 9pt or 10pt and active cleartype you can't see the difference between bold and not bold.
I changed my font to ProggyCleanTT which is not impacted by cleartype. |

If you have problems with particular font that renders the same being bold or normal, try another font then
I think there are many good fonts are availble from various sources. |
