(I am very new to Nusphere, so please bear with me)
I have been trying to figure out how to force NuSphere to use version 4 of PHP and also how to switch between 4 and 5. When I create my project, I run it with the phpinfo(); and the display shows that the php.ini being used is the one in the \NuSphere\TechPlat\apache\bin, even though I have the settings (or so I thought) set to use the \NuSphere\phped\php(for php 4) and \NuSphere\phped\php5 (for php 5).

How do i make it use the php 4 settings? I really need to get the MSSQL settings to work and i think the reason that this is failing is because the TechPlat is the PHPExp edition (right?).

My installed NuSphere platform is 5.616 for Windows and am running all debugging using the local server.

If Run Mode is set to 3rd party web server, PhpED does not run PHP at all. It's the web server's task in this case. So, if you configured web server to run php5, it will run php5.
Regarding PhpED, it comes with bundled SRV server that can run php4 and php5 depending on file extension. File extensions are set in Tools->Settings->File Associations. If you associate *.php with PHP5, it will run php5. If you associate it with PHP4, it will run php4. Please note that Run Mode should be set to SRV web server.
