The DBG debugger used by PhpED is a PHP extension, not a module like Pear modules. Unless you have root access to the server, you cannot set this up. In that case your only option is to debug locally.

No, I don't think so. You need an extension that plugs into the heart of PHP, not a Pear module that adds some reusable PHP code.
