Why doesn't the "Text File.txt" template show?

I've attached 2 screenshots below.

Even though there's a "Text File.txt" template, it doesn't show in the New File window. How come?

Thanks,

Andy

Text File.txt exists in the templates directory:

Ooh, where's it gone?

I had the same problem. You need to add txt extension to: Tools->Settings->Associations. I added it to HTML type, but I think we should have 'Text' type. In all my projects I have files like readme.txt.

Thanks a bunch, that worked.

I agree. It seems really strange to have a Text template in the standard distribution, but then not to have a Text File association. It's the most basic of basic files; I particularly use them for note-taking while developing.

I fully agree on that one.
Not specifically a "text" type, but more a "no highlighting" type (which is basically a plain text one Smile ).

I agree to this as well, it would be useful to have such a listing option available.

(and thanks for the note on how to fix that, I was wondering about that the other day)
