I'm trying to install the PHP debugger on a Linux box running 5.2.1. (It's actually a VM containing a LAMP Server from VirtualAppliances).

One of the steps is to add the line ...

zend_extension=/usr/lib/php5/dbg.so-5.2.x

to php.ini. But every time I reboot that line vanishes (although none of the other additions such as the [debugger] set do) and dbg-wizard.php says the debugger is not installed. I can't figure out what is deleting that line. Is it PHP, or something in the boot sequence?

Any ideas?

Colin.

I'd recommend you to check you server setup and profile scripts for the root in particular. Looks like your php.ini file is recreated from somewhere each time your reboot.
Let know if you find somehting.
