[resolved] ftp - no route to host

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post, I am a paying customer.

Anyway, we set up a new server and we are trying to connect NuSphere to it.

I am using the FTP explorer, I have set up the connection details but when it tries to connect it says "no route to host"

I have also set up SSH terminal in NuSphere which works fine to the new and old servers.

CuteFTP works OK with the same details (IP address + user name + password) so the server has FTP working OK.

So what is wrong with the FTP in NuSphere? FTP works for our other servers. Is there a cache file I need to delete?

Is there an error log I can read?

Thanks,

The exact error message is:

Failed to list files in "/" folder
Socket Error # 10065
No route to host.

check if host name in the ftp account settings is either IP address or hostname, without any spaces or protocol specifiers (like ftp:// or ftps://)

This was a firewall problem. We had opened one port for FTP, I think NuSphere connects using the FTP port then it gets handed off to another port which was blocked by the firewall. CuteFTP handled this gracefully and used the original port.

NuSphere just reports the error shown above. Perhaps a better error message would be helpful Smile

Ftp standards impose that ftp protocol uses two ports. One is for transmitting data and another is a 'control' port. There is no way to use just one port.
