I'm currently working with a mix of PHP 5.2 and 5.3, is there any way to get PhpED's code inspection to work with PHP 5.3's namespaces?

Well, the issue here is that we're attempting to develop our applications for PHP 5.3 before it comes out of beta. I really hope I get a good answer as I've found quite a few features I like in PHP Ed.

please correct me if I am wrong, but as of today no IDE among all php IDEs on the market supports php 5.3 namespaces. Even more, this feature of 5.3 known as support for namespaces, is still not frozen. No more than two or three weeks ago some dramatic changes related to namespaces were considered to be posted into the php code. They would change whole the picture On the other side, why would you need a support for namespaces in your code so early? Do you know _ANY_ ISP that will provide php 5.3 by the day when it gets released? |

Heheh, your opinions are good ones, and appear to be well informed. However, we pride ourselves in supporting new versions of PHP as early as possible. On that note, I guess what I'm really asking for is an editor that has customizable code inspection. In my opinion, this shouldn't be to difficult, but then again, I'm a PHP dev, I've not quite broken into C yet.
As for ISPs, we normally deal with customers who own dedicated servers, and, as such, have the ability to upgrade programs as we see fit. We do plan to support 5.3 as early as possible. You're right, namespaces have recently undergone many changes, including changes to the keyword used to declare them and such, and, at one point there was talk of removing them altogether. As a matter of fact, I've heard talk that 5.3 isn't supposed to be finalized for another year at least, but as most developers know, in the PHP world, things go fast, so we have to be prepared. |
